Now thousands of us are taking part in a social media storm to tarnish Total’s public image and make it harder for them to get funding from banks for their destructive fossil fuel projects.

Today, in France and around the world, thousands of people are getting together online to call out Total on the indecency of profiting from skyrocketing energy prices while vulnerable countries and communities are feeling the impact of an ever-worsening climate crisis. Add pressure online by sharing one - or all three - of the tweets below, calling out TotalEnergies and its CEO Patrick Pouyanné on their hypocrisy.

2. POST A FACEBOOK COMMENT

  1. Go to TotalEnergies’s Facebook page.
  2. Pick one of their recent posts (doesn’t matter which one) and leave a message in a comment.
  3. In the comment, you can write how angry you feel that Total has made the largest profit in the history of any company in France (+ 15 billions euros) whereas people scrimp and save and endure an energy price crisis that has seen gas prices at the pump reach record levels in recent weeks. Make it personal if you can – say why it’s important for you.
