350.org on youth-led Zero Hour march: “Young people are stepping up where elected officials are failing.”

National, USA — Today, thousands of people across generations are expected are taking part in the youth-led Zero Hour march. On the day of the mobilization, May Boeve, 350.org Executive Director, issued the following statement:

“The youth are taking over and making clear what’s at stake for our climate, communities, and collective future. At today’s Zero Hour march, thousands of young people are stepping up where elected officials are failing. While the Trump administration props up fossil fuels, we see writing on the wall: a fossil free world with no new fossil fuel projects, 100% renewables for all, and not a penny more for dirty energy. Across generations, we stand with youth leading the fight for climate justice.”

350.org officially endorsed Zero Hour on June 25, 2018. The Zero Hour march comes just seven weeks ahead of the Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice mobilization, where hundreds of communities across the U.S. and around the world will demand elected officials and decision-makers at all levels take real and immediate action for a fossil free world.
