It is with great sadness that we share the news of Koreti Tiumalu’s passing. Koreti’s powerful voice, outstanding leadership, charming wit, and strengthening presence left an immeasurable impact on thousands around the world. Her involvement in the Raise a Paddle journey and film is one of her many gifts to 350.org.

In May 2017, three Pacific Islanders travelled half way across the world to visit the Canadian tar sands. They bore witness to the destructive project and built solidarity with Indigenous Peoples resisting tar sands expansion in Canada. Watch the film:

The impacts of tar sands expansion are connected around the world, and so is the resistance. Stand with Indigenous peoples on the front lines and pledge to take action to keep tar sands in the ground.
